We recently brought global non-profit leaders together for a series of events in London including the Leadership Academy, hosted by American Express and Common Purpose with support from Hilton and Delta Air Lines, and an inspiring panel discussion timed to the Wimbledon Women’s Finals match. Participants heard firsthand from key speakers and engaged in community experiences and networking opportunities to help enhance their change making skills.    "This year’s Leadership Academy in London brought together an incredible group of non-profit leaders for in-person programming and inspiring conversations about the ways we can deepen our impact in the communities where we live and work. Non-profit leaders believe in their work and tell their stories from the heart, and we are helping to equip them with the skills they need to break through all the noise out there and make sure their stories resonate, so they can raise more awareness for their organizations,” said Jennifer Skyler, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at American Express.    Read more insights the dynamic leaders shared at these events: https://lnkd.in/gSrsFM9e

Today, American Express reported its second-quarter 2024 financial results, with quarterly revenue reaching an all-time high of $16.3 billion, up 8%, or 9% on an FX-adjusted basis. Earnings per share increased 44% year-over-year to $4.15, or 21% to $3.49 excluding a transaction gain, demonstrating the continued strong performance of our core business. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Steve Squeri said: “Since the end of 2021, we have significantly grown the scale of our business, increasing revenues by nearly 50% and Card Member spending by almost 40%, while adding around 23 million new cards and over 30 million merchant locations. This increased scale, combined with our premium, high-credit quality customers, our well-controlled expense base and our successful investments to continuously enhance our Membership Model, fuels the earnings power of the core business and reinforces our confidence in our ability to deliver strong bottom-line growth.”   Read more about our second-quarter results in our full earnings release, which includes an explanation of FX-adjustments and a reconciliation for EPS excluding a transaction gain of $0.66 per share, a non-GAAP financial measure, here: https://lnkd.in/eTiXW4Ve.
