This means the bill has "died" and cannot be brought to the Committee again until the next session in January 2025. We do expect to see a revision of this bill, but we are taking action to ensure AFH providers are part of that conversation. Notice: The special COVID-19 daily rate add-on for Medicaid will be entering its last phase. Starting January 1, 2024, the rate will drop to $2.79/day until June 30, 2024, when the rate ends.

Earlier this week, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter passed away at the age of 96. Mrs. Carter was a champion for caregivers. For over 35 years, the Rosalynn Carter Institute has developed programs to support, educate and elevate caregivers. Her works have advanced public policy and improved the lives for caregivers across the nation. Mrs. Carter was quoted as saying, “Caregiving is hard, even on the good days when it brings joy and fulfillment. It requires dedication, determination, and time.” We want to take this moment to honor her legacy and express gratitude for her efforts to ensure that caregivers are seen, and their many struggles and sacrifices recognized.
