Exciting updates from AES Chile! 🌞🔋 They're making bold strides in energy storage, growing our capacity to revolutionize how we deliver renewable energy to our customers. In addition to the 362 MW of Battery Storage Systems in operation today at our plants in the Antofagasta and Metropolitan regions of Chile, we are enthusiastic to be adding 892 MW by the end of 2027, with 89 MW coming online this year and an additional 171 MW in 2025. AES Chile CEO, Javier Dib, emphasized, “We were pioneers in energy storage systems in the country and today we have the largest portfolio in Latin America. We have always believed that batteries would play a fundamental role in the power system, and today they allow us to advance in the development and integration of renewable energy to increase the system's flexibility and stability." The future looks promising, after investing US$1.7 billion and adding 1.4 GW in wind, solar, and battery capacity over the past five years, we have another US$1.9 billion and 1.8GW coming online over the next few years in Chile. By 2027 we will proudly operate at least 1.3GW in battery storage systems in Chile, leading the charge towards a sustainable future, energizing customers, and fortifying the National Electric System. Stay tuned as AES powers the pathway to a greener tomorrow! 🌱💡 #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #Innovation #EnergyStorage #AESChile #GreenTech #CleanEnergyFuture

AES Dominicana's dedication to environment and sustainability was evident as they launched a reforestation campaign near our Peravia II photovoltaic project. 30 volunteers came together to plant 400 trees that were carefully chosen to enhance the biodiversity around our solar facility and contribute to the conservation of crucial water resources. This event marked a significant milestone in our journey towards restoring 190 hectares of land in the Dominican Republic and reaffirmed AES Dominicana's commitment to environmental conservation. #AESDominicana #Sustainability #Reforestation #RenewableEnergy #EnvironmentalConservation

#ICYMI: AES CEO Andrés Gluski joined CNBC to discuss the impact of #AI on the future of #renewableenergy. 🌱⚡️ As AI continues to advance, so does energy demand, increasing by a notable 15% annually for data centers, outpacing the overall growth of 4%. Andrés emphasized, "The only way the United States (energy) demand does not grow, quite frankly, is if suddenly the AI revolution stops." In 2023, we generated enough energy to serve the annual consumption of approximately 22 million people in the places we operate. And that is continuing to grow. With a more than 12 GW backlog, AES is one of the largest renewable energy providers to corporations and specifically to technology companies. 🔗 Watch the interview: https://lnkd.in/eGQ--bcG #AES #EnergyInnovation #SustainableEnergy #EnergyStorage #PowerGrid #AI #TechTrends

We're excited to share the news that the largest operational solar project in the state of Nebraska is now delivering energy to #OPPD and its customers. AES team members joined Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) leaders and team members, Saunders County officials, project landowners and stakeholders on Thursday to celebrate the completion and operational status of the Platteview solar facility, located near Yutan, Nebraska. The 81 MW solar facility, enough to power 14,000 homes, is also OPPD’s first utility-scale solar facility, delivering low-cost energy to OPPD and its customers in Omaha and Southeastern Nebraska. The Platteview project is also delivering economic benefits to local communities and the economy. The project supported 350 jobs during peak construction and will also generate more than $9.5 million in new tax revenue over the life of the project, with most of that revenue going to support the Yutan School District. Thank you OPPD and project stakeholders for your collaboration and support on this groundbreaking project! Together, we’re accelerating the future of energy.
