About us

Since 2004, the AbleGamers Charity (AKA The AbleGamers Foundation) has served more than 56 million members of the disabled community by advocating greater access to digital media. Today, the AbleGamers Foundation is a leader in the development of equipment, programs and services to those living with disabilities, hardships, and quality-of-life issues that are a result of chronic illness or trauma. It is our goal that all people, regardless of their disability, can use gaming as a tool for an enriched social experiences with friends, family, and the world at large. The AbleGamers Foundation serves all people with disabilities and their caregivers, regardless of race, age, gender, sexual-orientation, nationality or religion. OUR MISSION The AbleGamers Charity serves anyone in need through direct person-to-person services, assistive technology grants, community support, and access to data. We help people afford expensive technology, which allows them the ability to participate in gaming experiences that improve their overall quality of life. Additionally, we provide the largest database of mainstream videogame titles, complete with reviews focused exclusively on the accessibility of a given title. Finally, we raise awareness by showing disabled veterans returning from war that video gaming can allow then reconnect with friends, and participate in an activity that they enjoyed before their injury.

"I lost one identity and the real me came out." The Quad Gods have built a strong gaming community of gamers with disabilities who compete together and celebrate gaming for all players. They are the “Quad Gods” because many of their members use Quadsticks to game; an accessibility tool that provides a hands-free way to play modern video games on consoles and personal computers, making gaming possible for individuals who are unable to use alternative adaptive hardware. We are so excited to see the Quad Gods' story being shared in a major way thanks to their upcoming documentary on HBO. AbleGamers has had the honor of collaborating with the Quad Gods for events in the past, and we could not be more happy to see this sort of representation in film. Gaming is for everyone, and this documentary will shed light onto just how important the friendships and community that come from gaming are for every player. A huge thank you to Up Down Kansas City for last week's Coins for a Cause fundraising event benefitting the mission at AbleGamers. $1821 in funds were raised from token sales that night. That $1821 will be spent in the community enabling play and combating social isolation for local gamers with disabilities. Because of super fun events like these, more players are enabled by accessible hardware and expert guidance so that they can stay connected and play the games they love. Thanks again to Up Down Kansas City and our partners at Ability KC for making play possible!
