Frontier Airlines has made its return to San José Mineta International this week with the launch of daily nonstop service to Denver International and San Diego International. Additionally, Frontier will add daily service from SJC to Los Angeles International, Harry Reid International in Las Vegas and Phoenix Sky Harbor International in early August.    “I am thrilled to welcome back Frontier Airlines to San José with new non-stop destinations,” said San José City Manager Jennifer Maguire. “Air travelers have even more opportunity to fly throughout the West Coast and beyond with low-cost airfares while enjoying the many conveniences and amenities at San José Mineta International Airport.” #aviationnews

The first phases of the largest capital project in Memphis International’s history are set to begin in the coming weeks.   At its monthly meeting, the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) Board of Commissioners approved a construction contract for the demolition of Concourse A — marking the beginning of a more than $650 million, multi-year project that will result in the modernization of the Tennessee airport’s terminal building.     “More than two years ago, MEM reinvented the Memphis travel experience by introducing our modernized concourse. Now, we carry that momentum forward as we embark on our largest project ever, one that is designed to enhance our travelers’ experience and support our airport’s long-term growth." said MSCAA President and CEO Terry Blue, A.A.E., ACE. #aviationnews
