A big week at 8090 Industries as I'm thrilled to welcome our newest addition to our growing team, Ishan Meswani who joins our industrial decarbonization fund as an investor and will be working side by side with me as we aim to support the next generation of decarbonization leaders. Ishan will be based in New York City, so definitely don't hesitate to reach out to him! For all that know him, simply put, Ishan is an intellectual dynamo and a force to be reckoned with, armed with an insatiable, non-consensus and competitive curiosity. Somehow he harbors this and reinforces it with a hard working spirit and a deep passion for supporting entrepreneurs focused on decarbonizing our industries and planet. Proof? He was the first student to complete a minor in environment and sustainability at MIT before it was cool. Prior to 8090 Industries, Ishan held operating and investing roles across India and the US, including at Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Company in New York. As a consultant, Ishan advised various corporations across a wide range of industries on their business strategies and industrial transformations, and supported multiple diligences of cleantech investments. While in India, Ishan held multiple roles at India’s largest company, Reliance Industries Limited, working out of the Office of the Chairman. He worked on numerous corporate venture deals, including the acquisition, scale-up and certification of a futuristic personal rapid transit system to solve urban mobility challenges. Outside of Reliance, Ishan also worked on the creation of an investment fund focused on energy and infrastructure. Ishan earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and recently received his MBA from Harvard Business School. Investing well is a game of empathy and understanding. For the energy transition, it’s having a deep understanding and empathy for the people, assets and infrastructure that keep our lights on and production running from electrons to molecules. Ishan has seen it all and on a global scale from the villages of India to the board rooms of today’s leading industrial companies. Grant is a member of 8090 Industries’ investment team focused on Industrial Decarbonization across Energy, Oil & Gas, Transportation, and Climate Mitigation. Prior to 8090, Grant spent time in the Energy sector with Williams Companies. He held roles within Engineering, Operations, Trading and Business Development. Grant has worked across the country on pipeline assets—from Texas to Louisiana to Pennsylvania—and has a passion for integrating innovative technologies and business practices into the existing infrastructure of our world.
