However, it’s always good to remember who is the audience and work as per the consumers need. Hence, seeking feedback plays a vital role in delivery of quality work. We can get better ideas and that could lead us know even the tools better. Most of the time we don’t explore the capabilities of the tools we are using for BI and hence we end up showing unorganised data.

O marketing, em minha opinião, exagera um pouco o BI (que a princípio olha o passado). Invista numa visão mais global (ferramentas analitytics), que podem ajudar mais nas decisões, através de projeções.

You can find plenty of people with SQL and Excel skills, but finding skills for products like Tableau, Qlik, Spotfire, SAS and SAP is more difficult. Mas, acrescentaria, investir em conhecimentos de matemáticas (regressões lineares e não lineares, métodos quantitativos etc). Estes, têm oferecido análises preditivas, que superam a visão de um gráfico ou mesmo um relatório de histórico. a matemática surpreende a nossa capacidade de raciocínio!

Inovar é crucial quando todos os envolvidos estão dispostos a isso. Questione, pergunte e revise se o que está sendo desenvolvido realmente agrega valor ou é apenas algo interessante. Recentemente, no Power BI, desenvolvi um filtro suspenso para otimizar espaço na página e ampliar os gráficos. No entanto, ao apresentar o dashboard para a defensora, ela afirmou que preferia os filtros visíveis, pois aquilo não agregava valor algum e também quem bate o olho não sabe que existe filtros a serem feitos (mesmo com o ícone de filtro). Isso me ensinou que a inovação nem sempre é necessária; às vezes, um básico bem feito resolve o problema. No final das contas, precisei desfazer o filtro e reduzir os gráficos! hahah! Vivendo e aprendendo!
