Here's how you can engage event attendees and assess event success through effective communication.

One thing that is always appreciated if there is a newcomers activity, officially organized like a newcomers reception or breakfast. Or unofficially initiated by the newcomers themselves via a LinkedIn group or event, when they ask if someone wants to join them on a walk to the meeting venue. Another thing that can be nice if there are buddies assigned, an experienced attendee who is assigned to a newcomer and can introduce to others. When newcomers are engaged in an early stage, they can feel such great appreciation and engagement at the event.

1. Early Outreach: Utilize social media, newsletters, and personalized invites to start conversations and build anticipation. Share teasers about speakers, topics, and activities to generate interest and foster a sense of community. 2. Community Building: Encourage potential attendees to share expectations and preferences, fostering a sense of belonging. This engagement lays the foundation for a successful event by boosting attendance and understanding attendee interests early on. 3. Feedback Loop: Establish channels for feedback from engaged participants to tailor the event to their needs. Do not communicate with your audience for the sake of communication. Communicate things to them that will make the event valuable to them. Help them achieve event success. This is not about you. I already know what is happening, when, and how things work, so I can attend the event and achieve the success I seek.

Great advice. Give your audience a mix of talks, workshops and networking events. Make the speakers accessible to the audience; then you have a two-way flow of ideas and value.

People celebrate certain events and moments yearly, bringing joy and meaning to their lives. Try to do the same here: become one of these events that they celebrate within their business lives. They will see you as part of their lives, businesses, and success.

Do not aim to make 100% of attendees happy or think you should. A small percentage of people will not accept what you do and will always criticize, which is okay. Keeping everyone happy means you are not pushing the boundaries much. Pay attention to the small minority of people who do not like what you do. If they suddenly grow, ask yourself what changed and whether you should address it.
