Try out ideas, and learn from what doesn't work as much as what does work.

Let your designers and engineers hear direct customer pain points. On occasion, and when appropriate, you can bring them with you to a customer interview or user test. You'll be amazed how quickly they get engaged in improving that user's experience. Your engineers know what is technically possible. Your designers know how to create brilliant user experiences. Every once in a while, ask them to see first-hand what customers are struggling to do; their creative solutions will surprise you and delight your customers.
