GBV case management data collection is very sensitive and thus the need to collect it in a manner that puts the safety of the survivor first. A good practice if you are not using GBVIMS/Primero is to encrypt the information management system (e.g. Excel). When setting up your information management system, set up guidelines on what can be collected, shared and analysed and by whom. Additionally, create an SOP of what happens when the data is requested or breached by potentially harmful actors (e.g. in a conflict crisis when an armed actor demands to see proof of GBV). Encrypted data does not work if everyone has access to the key.
