My job is a blended remote/in office job. I love having the option to be remote when I want, but still come in when needed. I am able to do many of my job aspects remotely, and since our office is very short on space it allows for a more private environment for my telehealth clients.

The same concepts and strategies for retention really apply across most roles, as any employee and organization benefits from employees having adequate work-life balance. CM is one of those roles where burnout can happen particularly quickly simply by the nature of this work, so ensuring staff ‘unplug’, especially in the enhanced virtual -access environment that exists now, is even more important. I think being clear with staff that these boundaries are important and respected, and encouraging employees to not be afraid to also respect and expect boundaries on their own time and expectations (time off is time off) helps combat burnout. We can’t just talk the talk, we have to walk the walk, too, and encourage staff to do the same.
