I experienced this precise problem twice. I worked hard to solve the disagreements in vision but, in hindsight, I spent too much time trying to fix rather than moving on. After the second experience, my business took off and I never looked behind. I would try for no more than 6 months to fix then move on. I also learned that self centeredness and likely narcissism in others are not fixable. I love the story of the two frogs. If the first frog 🐸 is dropped into boiling water it will immediately jump out. However, if the second frog is dropped into a pot of water at room temperature but the temperature increases one degree a day the frog adapts not realizing its insides are cooking. Don’t be the second frog! 🐸
