Dedicating intentional time towards practicing one’s vocation results in familiarity with the craft which typically results in improved confidence. It’s no secret that practice makes progress. Progress enhances performance, improved performance results in achievements, and achievements boost confidence. Those characterized as “overachievers” are typically those who dedicate intentional time to the “preparation stage”. One must practice in order to become better prepared for the cognitive demands of one’s field and that practice is necessary for exceptional performance. Routine practice results in improved possibilities which makes confidence that much more attainable.

One thing I’ve found most helpful is counting “small” victories. Sometimes when helping a client that may have many needs or needs that may be difficult to attain it can seem as if you aren’t making progress. Counting those small steps help you to remain in a positive mindset.
