That said, if you receive this criticism, there's a hidden motive and your job is to clarify: - Is it feedback delivered poorly? - Is the person having pressure from above? You don't know until you ask. My method: "Thanks for saying... . If I understand correctly, you're dissatisfied with... . Can you clarify which aspect exactly so I work to improve it?" You get the gist: stay calm, ask for clarification, listen to the answer. That should help you transform criticism into constructive feedback.
