I watched the animated film "Your Name" tonight and it's one of the finest Japanese films I've seen in a long time. The animation is deadly beautiful, main characters are very complex, the story is on point throughout the film, and it's focus heavily on the lifestyle. It's also very, very well written, which Hollywood movies today could not match for Japanese originality. It's totally a different film but a treat to watch untold.

This is a discussion thread for American audiences who's interested in watching a Japanese animated film. IGN users and posts are welcome!

I am a fan of Makoto Shinkai's works. The movie is good and i didn't expect the plot twist but the movie didn't really blow me away either. Maybe I am holding too high of a expectation after hearing so much praise before watching it.
