PLAYBOOK ANALYSIS

OFFENSE- I'll be using a tweaked version of ATL's default offensive playbook Murlarkey Power Run. I mostly just removed plays that are useless, like all the screens and a lot of doubles or stupid variations of plays. I added a few QB runs just for the hell of it. Just two different options and a QB choice PA play. I don't expect to actually use those plays though.

DEFENSE- For defense I'm using a tweaked Rex Ryan 4-6 playbook. All I did to the playbook was remove all the 3-4 plays so it was just 4-3, 4-6, and Nickel formations. I'll be looking to add to that sometime.

PHILOSOPHY
QB- Field General. Want an accurate QB. Don't care if he can run or not. I'll only be keeping 2 on my roster so the starter can't be injury-prone.
HB- Balanced. I plan on having 2 good backs that can split carries. I set Game Fatigue Status to "moderate" so they sub in and out more often. I'll be keeping 3 HBs on the roster
FB- Blocking. It's a power run offense. I only need 1 FB.
WR- Quick/Route Runner. Most of my passes are gonna be intermediate/standard passes. I'm keeping 5 WRs on the roster.
TE- Balanced. Good hands is OK but my TE has to be able to block too. I'm only keeping 2 so they need to be durable.
OT- Balanced. I need good run blockers but I'll be facing some good pass rushers so they can't be all run, no pass. I'm keeping 4 OTs on my team, 2 left 2 right.
G- Run Block Specialist. Guards are important for running in between the tackles and I need good run blockers here. I'm keeping 3 Gs.
C- Balanced. Needs to be good at run blocking but also able to slow down the Tommie Harris-type defensive tackles. I'm only keeping 2 Cs.

DE- Balanced. I want good pass rushers but they need to be able to stop the run. I'll have 4 DEs.
DT- Balanced. Again, I want some pass rush but they got to stop the run first. I'm keeping 3 DTs.
OLB- Balanced. Able to cover, pass rush, or just flat out tackle. I'm keeping 4 OLBs.
MLB- 3-4/Tackler. I want a run stopper here. I'll be keeping 2 MLBs so they need to be durable.
CB- Man Coverage/Ballhawk. My corners will be in a lot of man-to-man so I need good man coverage corners here. I'll be keeping 5.
FS- Centerfielder. My FS will be the one guy who's 95% going to be in some type of coverage. I'll need 2.
SS- Run Support/Big Hitter. I'm running a 4-6 so I need a 4th linebacker type SS. I'll keep 2 like.

K- Balanced. Good strength but has got to be accurate. Only need 1 K obviously.
P- Big Foot/Distance. Couldn't care less how accurate my punter is. Only need 1 P.

PLAYCALL PHILOSOPHY
Blitz- Heavy. We going for dem sacks.
Pass Coverage- Man Coverage
Defensive Playbook Control goes to the DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR (could end up going to me)
Defensive Scheme- 46
Defining Moments- Balanced
No Huddle- Rarely
Offensive Playbook Control goes to the OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR (could end up going to me)
Offensive Scheme- Power Running

STAFF ANALYSIS-
OC 22 OVR- Murlarkey most likely will not return.
DC 26 OVR- Good LB teacher but no he'll probably be going too.
STC 63 OVR- I like him actually. I'll probably keep him around and transform him into an elite coordinator.
QBC 32 OVR- His potential is too limited for me so he'll probably go.
RBC 5 OVR- Literally 5 OVR. Literally gone.
WRC 56 OVR- Has already reached potential in Performance at Level 2. There are better coaches around than this guy.
OLC 16 OVR- There's too many other good OL coaches. Alex Gibbs might be available for pete's sake.
LBC 9 OVR- Under 10 OVR coaches almost always get fired by me.
DBC 95 OVR- An ELITE defensive backs coach. I wanna keep Emmitt Thomas around as long as possible.
DLC 75 OVR- I'll try to develop his special skills. Wanna get Improved Block Shedding. I'll definitely keep him if I can.
GM 38 OVR- Although a low OVR, he has a lot of untapped potential. I'll keep him around.
Trainer 1 OVR- Lol GONE.

FREE AGENCY PLAN
Even though I NEED a QB BADLY (I don't even have one on the roster)...I'm not gonna draft one. The plan is to sign 37-year-old Trent Green for 1 year and wait until I can draft a stud QB in a few years. I might find a filler QB in the draft.

HB and FB are both fine. I might draft a complimentary RB for Norwood but I'm not signing one. He's rather solid in this game. We'll see.

I'll be drafting 1 or 2 good receivers because right now all I really got to work with is Roddy White and the corpse of Joe Horn. I have terrible TEs so I'll be drafting one of those.

My OL is awful, god awful. I need a LT, C, and RG.

Jamaal Anderson and John Abraham can hold up my DE spots for now but I need 1 or maybe 2 good DTs.

I want to re-sign Boley but I'll probably let Demorrio Williams go.

What I really need are some CORNERBACKS. I need TWO good ones. AND I need a starter-caliber FS.

I need to either re-sign my K and P or get new ones.

The chaos known as FREE AGENCY has just ensued. The mock draft has me taking Matt Ryan 3rd overall lol.

Speaking of draft picks, I currently hold THREE 1st round picks in this year's draft. I probably won't use all 3. I have 3 2nd rounders and 2 3rd rounders.

I thought about trading for Bears TE Desmond Clark...decided not too.

I also thought about bidding for premier DT Albert Haynesworth but decided not too.

I did decide to bid on FS Eugene Wilson and won. I signed him to a 5 yr/$23M deal, $7.50M signing bonus, and no incentives.

Then I bidded for Boley and won over Detroit. I signed him to a 4 yr/$17M deal, $5.50M bonus, no incentives.

Then I signed CB Randall Gay to a 4 yr/$20M deal, $3.50M bonus. I haggled him big time here lol.

I signed Ben Noll, a right guard, to a 4 yr/$18 M deal, $5.50M bonus, and NO INCENTIVES. I haggled him for that little perk.

After 4 pretty impactful signings, I still have $50M left in cap room, and only $2M worth of potential incentives. And no penalties yet.

I entered a bid for my target QB, Trent Green, but the cap hit was 7 million! WTF! Not the route I wanted to go I decided and let Kansas City win the bid.

Damn man. I enter into the war for QB Daunte Culpepper but the two other teams really wanted him lol. The cap hit for him went up to 7 mil as well. And he's only a 71 OVR in my system!

But I did fill my P need by signing old man Matt Turk for a simple 1 yr/$1M deal.

Then I came across Trent Dilfer and signed the old QB to a 1 yr/$2.8M deal, no bonus or incentives.

INSIDE THE WAR ROOM
As expected, Miami took LT Jake Long 1st OVR. The Rams took Vernon Gholston.

I DID use my 3rd overall pick. I drafted DE Chris Long. I plan on moving him inside to play DT next to Abraham, Anderson, and...another DT.

I then used my 15th overall pick on LG Branden Albert. I know, I know. I don't need a guard but he's so dominant. I'll probably move him to LT.

I traded down on my other 1st rounder.

Complete draft coming up.

Here are my draft picks in the 2008 Draft:
RE Chris Long- Again, I plan on switching him to DT.
LG Branden Albert- I plan on making him my LT of the future.
WR Donnie Avery- Hopefully will be my 2nd WR next to Roddy.
LT Sam Baker- I know, I know, I drafted Albert. But come on, a stud LT like Baker in the 2nd round? I'll move him to C since I still need one.
CB Patrick Lee- Raw but lots of potential
MLB Tavares Gooden- Will probably move to OLB to play alongside Brooking and Boley. I almost drafted Rivers 3rd overall.
WR Mario Manningham- More than likely will be my slot receiver.
CB Zack Bowman- Solid corner. I need depth at corner.
QB Andre Woodson- Stud QB in 5th round? I think yes. He may just be my franchise QB. We'll see.
DT Athya Rubin- A great run stuffing DT. Might start next to fellow rookie Chris Long.
HB Xavier Omon- A good power back that could help spell Norwood.
CB Jack Ikegwuonu- Again, I need depth at CB.
CB Jonathan Wilhite- Need the depth

My undrafted free agents were wide receivers Mario Urrutia & Brent Swann, TE Mike Peterson, RE Tony Bake, & K Alexis Serna, my new starting kicker.

Now onto to training camp we go.

I tried to haggle Chris Long and failed lol. He walked out of negotiations.

I signed Albert to a 5-yr/~$14M deal, no incentives though.

And I signed Avery for no incentives.

I got Baker for a 4-yr/$M deal, just $1M bonus.

I signed Lee for about the same deal as Baker.

I got Gooden very cheap. 4 years, a little over $2.5M, with no bonus.

You can't play with Manningham so I signed him for 3 years, a little under $2M with $500K bonus.

Continuing with rookie signing, I got Bowman for 3 years, $1.85M, and no bonus.

I got stud Andre Woodson for just $1.19M over 3 years, no bonus and small incentives.

I signed Rubin to a 3-yr/$1.18M deal, no bonus but with 2 $1M incentives.

I then signed Omon to a 3-yr deal, just $1.07M, with no bonus and two small incentives.

LOL @ Ikgewuono or whatever the hell his name is walking out of negotiations. He asked for 1 deal and I put out there the same damn deal, just without the measley $250K signing bonus and he walked out! He thinks he's somebody. I offered the same deal to Wilhite and he accepted. Have fun being cut, Jack.

PRESEASON, GAME 1 @JAX
Loss 20-10

T. Dilfer- 39.6 QBR, 9 yds, 1/10 10%, sacked 3 times
A. Woodson- 33.3 QBR, 14 yds, 1 INT, 1/2 50%
ANALYSIS- Horrible QB play lol. Like OMG.

J. Norwood- 8 att, 91 yds, 1 TD
X. Omon- 14 att, 49 yds
ANALYSIS- Norwood broke a 67-yard TD so those numbers are inflated

Rookie DL Tony Bake & Chris Long both had sacks in this game. Rookie CB Pat Lee had 6 tackles

I found a sleeper in the draft in Manningham and probably others too. Some rookie potential grades have been released!

WR M. Manningham 91
WR D. Avery 90
CB Z. Bowman 87
ROLB T. Gooden 87
WR M. Urrutia 69

Also, rookie TE Mike Peterson is hurt for 4-9 weeks with a severe pulled hammy. CB Zack Bowman is out for 4-9 weeks with a strained hammy. That's great...

Mario Urrutia was cut.
