Almost Not a Noob

Hi after playing through SR3 I was extremely disappointed. Here is why: (This is going to be extremely long and seem like a rant so I'll separate it into parts the best I can)
- Story: 3's story was just like an action movie parody. 2's had all kinds of exciting moments and it was actually cool to see how everything would turn out.
- Length: I beat 3 in 6 hours. I spend 20 playing 2 and still didn't get to the end.
- City: The entire city of 3 is an industrial zone. 2 has a variety of locations in the city and the mountain in the middle was awesome. Every store interior in 3 looks the same. There are no hidden interiors like 2. I feel this really detracts from the experience. 2 had a huge variety of hide outs. You could go in strip clubs, dance clubs, casinos, a rec center, a huge mall, an underground cave complex, a lighthouse, a prison, hotels, restaurants, music stores. All of the clothes and gun stores were varied in layout. Every single hideout felt different and you could customize them all to your liking.
- Side missions: The side missions in 3 felt like a chore more than a fun diversion. The one's in 2 were actually fun and I chose to do those on my own instead of story missions because they were enjoyable.
- Customization: Cars, hideouts, clothes, all had more options in 2.
- Multiplayer: The lobbies where you could group up with your friends and mess around in the mall or shoot baskets in the rec were loads of fun. I can't believe that was missing.
- Missions: 2's missions had a lot more variety. You would travel all over the city doing various things. In 3 you actually end up doing some things twice like sky diving from planes and going through that annoying flight sequence.
- Soundtrack: 2's was amazing. A great variety ranging from rap to punk rock to classical. There was always the right song on the radio to fit the situation. 3 had "Power" and that was about the extent of it.
- Progression?: In 2 you make your way through the game eventually unlocking new games and equipment and everything fits in well keeping you playing. In 3 you start out with super powers and jets making the progression obsolete and eventually become invincible which makes the game extremely dull.
- AI: The AI in 3 is so dumb. They don't get in your car when you need them to. They stand there and get shot then you need to go revive them otherwise you fail. It's annoying to say the least.
- Humor: In combination with the seriousness the humor in 2 fit perfectly. Jokes were funny. In 3 the whole game is basically one joke so continuing to hear them grows tiresome.
Sorry if this was too long and you didn't read it. Those were all the things I could come up with. Let me know if any of you feel the same way.

SR3 was too loose and silly for me.
-it was fun, though, and I still replay it occasionally.

But SR2 was awesome. It has depth, and the town just feels so real and gritty and down to earth.
-yes, it is rather ugly game, but despite that I just love it. It's one of those games I replay every year at least once.

SR1 is great too. It's the best looking in the series, and has the best atmosphere. Unfortunately many of it's missions are very unbalanced and almost impossible without cheats.

SR4 was a bit crap. I had some fun blasting terminators and collecting stuff and so on, but on the whole, I would not replay the game. One playthrough was enough. Mind you, SR4 did have good plot in that the world turned out to be simulated, which I though was cool, in sort of matrix parody way. Just so sad that the game is so damn ugly...
-oh and some of the weps were fun, if only for a short while.
