Remaining Final Fantasy XV story dlc cancelled

Episode Ardyn will still be out next year, however episodes Aranea, Lunafreya and Noctis have been cancelled.

Furthermore, Hajime Tabata has left Square Enix.


Personally, I was looking forward to the Aranea episode the most, so this is hugely disappointing to me.

I am neither happy, nor sad about this. While I enjoyed XV, it really hadn't been that much fun to go back to whenever new content came out. I obviously don't know what these DLC would've entailed, so maybe I really would've enjoyed them. But I didn't have high hopes.

As for Tabata, on the one hand, it's a shame he's completely gone. But at the same time, at least that means he won't be directing anymore. If the same happens for Nomura and maaaaybe Toriyama, we could hopefully see some games directed in a more sensible way. Nomura is the worst of the trio though, so I don't think real positive change will happen until he's done directing things.
