TEAM PHILOSOPHY
The first thing I did was copy the Rams offensive position philosophies and the Titans defensive position philosophies
Pure Passer QB
Balanced HB
Ballcarrier FB
Quick/Route Runner WR
Playmaker TE
Balanced T
Run Block Specialist G
Size/Strength/Mauler C

Balanced DE
Prototype DT
Prototype OLB
Power/Blitzer MLB
Man Coverage/Ballhawk CB
Centerfielder FS
Balanced SS

Then I changed my blitz philosophy to "Heavy" and offensive scheme to "Vertical Passing"

QUICK ROSTER EVALUATION- START OF TRAINING CAMP

Offensive Strengths: WR, deep OL, K
Offensive Weaknesses: TE
Comments: With Calvin "Megatron" Johnson and Roy Williams, we have two good receivers to work with and although most of the linemen we have on roster are training camp invites, we're currently deep in the trenches. But that is subject to change as we make cuts. We are average at QB and even HB but we have an AWFUL group of TEs.

Defensive Strengths: depth
Defensive Weaknesses: lack of standout players
Comments: We are currently deep at all defensive positions, but that's because of training camp invites. But we don't have any really good players that stand out

We'll have to see how training camp goes and then after maybe 2 preseason games, I'll see how the team is looking then.

QUICK STAFF EVALUATION
As head coach, my short-term goal is to get the Innovator special skill, which would explain why I used my starting skill points buying Speed/Strength Training and all that. Then from there I'll decide what I wanna use my points on but it will probably be on development. I am hoping to have the points needed for Innovator by Week 4 or 5 of the regular season.

This is clearly a new staff and honestly, the ONLY coaches I feel inclined (at the moment at least) to actually retain is my RB coach Kippy Brown, who is a 64 OVR with Running Back Discipline and Speed Training as special skills; and my d-coordinator actually isn't bad development wise though so he could potentially stay if the D plays well.

I was able to haggle rookie LB Jordan Dizon to package 13, a 4 year/~4M deal with no incentives. After a couple of days, his potential was revealed at 79, 75 overall to start off. He's actually not bad. He's a good tackler with pretty good coverage skills. His block shedding is 74 but had potential at 85. He also starts off with 85 play recognition. He's now starting at MLB.

Then I signed rookie RT Gosder Cherilus to an OK deal but still a lot of money and I'm almost certain he will be a slight disappointment but we'll see. Meanwhile it looks like we have a stud rookie OLB in Cliff Avril who starts off at 85 OVR with 88 potential. Him and Ernie Sims and even Dizon should make for an extremely athletic LB corps.

I simmed the 1st preseason game against Indianapolis...we lost 30-0[face_plain]

3 interceptions, 2 from Dan Orlovsky and 1 from our starter Jon Kitna. A lot of the carries were split but no one played well. Mike Furrey had 3 receptions for 37 yards though. We also gave up 6 sacks throughout the game. RT Harvey Dahl gave up 3.

Cliff Avril had 7 tackles and DT Shaun Cody got our only sack of the game. The D did get 3 interceptions though.

But good news after the game...Gosder Cherilus, who I predicted to be a bust...actually has quite a bit of potential. He starts off 84 overall and had 89 potential. Well damn then. His pass blocking will never be that good but he has potential to be a pretty good run blocker.

Our week 2 preseason game is against Cincinnati. I still need almost 4,000 points to get Innovator.

We beat Cincinnati 24-13 in our 2nd preseason game. QB play wasn't impressive at all really but they seemed to do a better job taking car of the ball. Tatum Bell and Brian Calhoun both goth 10+ carries; Bell had 56 rush yards and Calhoun had 32 with a TD. Roy Williams had 5 receptions for 55 yards and Furrey had 4 for 50. We again tallied 3 interceptions. THREE players got hurt in this game though. Ouch. But honestly it was no one really all that important.

This 3rd game will be against Cleveland. But it will have to wait until later when I can return to the game.
