Man, the post production for this movie must be pretty sick, prolly on the scale of something like the Transformers movies.

I'm glad to see they got through filming without any major hiccups. I think its too early to start the second one though. What if GL1 turns out to be a "Jonah Hex"?

I agree. If Green Lantern is a failure, then DC might be screwed. They can't hide behind Superman and Batman forever, and it doesn't look like Hex is getting a sequel. Green Lantern is capable of so much potential and could really bring new things to the superhero genre, but if this fails, then I don't see how they can even think about making films for Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Aquaman.

@RC-11 - Hopefully it doesn't end up being a Jonah Hex, but honestly, they wouldn't green-light sequels if they didn't believe that something of quality was there. With Jonah Hex, nobody really believed in the project and it showed. With Green Lantern, I'm only hearing enthusiasm and excitement from those involved. Marketing ploy? Partially, I'm sure. But SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE is obviously looking at what they have and thinking, we need to get this moving faster, this is gonna be big. I'm remaining hopeful, Green Lantern is my 2nd favorite comic series on the shelves right now. I hope they don't screw that up. Jonah Hex was also one of my favorite comic series on the shelves right now and you can see what that got me!

I highly doubt Green Lantern will be a Jonah Hex. Jonah Hex went through a host of issues during development and directors were switched several times for undetermined reasons(most likely because no one could agree on how to fix the crapfest). Akiva Goldsman (a.k.a the guy who brought us Batman and Robin and Wild Wild West) was also a producer for the film so it's level of awfulness was not surprising. The amount of marketing for the film was also minimal to say the least. DC seems to be putting a lot more energy into Green Lantern with Geoff Johns working closely with the production. Martin Campbell is not a slouch when it comes to directing action and if he pulls off something as good as Casino Royale I think fanboys and mainstream audiences will both be happy resulting in a lot of money for DC and more future adaptations. I highly doubt GL could be anywhere near the failure that Jonah Hex was. I could see it maybe not meeting DC's expectations, but I find even a Kick-Ass level "flop" to be unlikely.

They must be pretty confident to already start planning a sequel.

Lets hope they can pull it off.

And now he's the producer of The Fantastic Four reboot. That film is already off to a bad start.

say will you will about this movie, but there is no doubt in my mind that Mark Strong is gonna make an incredible Sinestro. The guy's track record speaks for itself
