Who would you guys want the cast too be in this game?

That would be interesting, but I would prefer if they followed tradition and did a post arc dream match game. '95 through '97 were the Orochi saga. So '98 had nearly every character in the series up to that point. '99 though '01 was the Nests saga and '02 had nearly every character that made an appearance in those games. As stated earlier, I'd like XIV to have nearly every character from '03 to XIII.

The problem would be team order. Elisabeth hasn't actually been on a team she could be paired with again. Shen and Duo Lon would be in Ash's team (aka '03 Team) and Benimaru is in Team Japan. So would she be paired with Oswald? Single entry? The four members of Team K' have all made appearances, but where would Whip be placed if Kula is the primary member? Mary, as part of the '97 Special Team (Yamazaki, Billy, Mary), is covered so the Agent Team (Seth, Ramon, Vanessa) can appear as a whole. If Chin is present, he would take precedence over Momoko since he's the founding member, so to speak, of the Psycho Soldier Team. So Elisabeth, Oswald and Momoko as Team XI? And what about Malin? Paired up with Kasumi and Eiji again (Anti-Kyokugen Team)? What about Adelheid? A supposedly important character who ended up not making the cut in XIII. He'd have to make an appearance at least. Likely single entry.

Kim would also be a strange one. Jhun was in '03, as was Chang. Where does that leave Hwa and Raiden? Duck and Kim were in Terry's team while Andy and Joe were away, so where would Duck go? Choi was mentioned and appeared in an ending, but he wasn't playable at all in this saga. Would he make the cut? Chizuru was around in '03, so would she go to the Women's Team? What about Yuri if Takuma is around? Would they do the Master Team again (Chin, Takuma, Heidern) to accommodate her? That puts Momoko in flux again. Heidern wasn't around either. Then again, Shermie, Yashiro, and Chris weren't around for the Nests saga and that didn't stop them (or Mature and Vice) from getting in to '02.

Too many variables. I still stand by that idea, though. KoF XIV should be a dream match.

However, there was a picture of the mythical lion, Leo...

Perhaps. On the other hand, Rugal, Mature, Vice, Shermie, Yashiro, and Chris are dead too. That hasn't stopped them from appearing in games after their deaths. All six were dead before the end of KoF '97, yet they persist. Besides, previous dream match games weren't canon anyway. Ash could still be in a dream match.
