Im stuck. It won't let me repair my tank to move on

It says hold down R2 and I can't repair, it just shoots my gun when I get close to the tank. I repaired earlier just fine. Sorry, probably a quick noob answer. But I spent 15 minutes trying to do a repair! Any help appreciated!

I play on PC, but are you sure R2 repairs? The last Battlefield game I played on PS4/3 the repair button was like X or Square.
