I recently bought a gamecube and i had never had one. What are some of the best games for it?

RE4, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Metroid Prime 1 & 2, Smash Bros. Melee, Wario Ware, Pokemon XD, Luigi's Mansion
I'm guessing everyone will list out the big Ninetndo stuff, so I'll throw out a few of my more obscure favorites.
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean -- A JRPG with a pretty complicated battle system based around cards, but it has a really awesome twist to the story.
Battalion Wars -- A weird semi-strategy/third person shooter on the GCN. Far from perfect, but fun and has kind of a punch-out flavor when it comes to characters.
Wave Race Blue Storm/1080 Avalanche -- Generally considered worse than their Nintendo 64 counterparts. I think they're fun and unique racing games.
Skies of Arcadia Legends -- A bit of a pricey game these days, but a light-hearted JRPG from the Dreamcast era. If you don't like JRPGs for being like pre-teen emo fests, play Skies of Arcadia. Everything about that game is just charming. (I actually wrote a blog about it: http://www.ign.com/blogs/oculin/2012/04/01/skies-of-arcadia-i-cant-get-enough-of-your-love-baby/ )
I could do more, but I'll hold off from filling this with a giant list of games lol.

I just reacquired a Gamecube and have been looking for games myself so I can definitely recommend some
I just got Eternal Darkness today and have heard great things so you should definitely consider picking that up
Skies of Arcadia, from the small amount I've played, seems fantastic so if you're a fan if RPG's I definitely recommend that
Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos Origins definitely too
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, but youd have to pick up the bongos too. The bundle is surprisingly cheap online though
Sonic Adventure DX is great if you've never played it. Dunno how hard to find it is now though cuz I've had it since I originally got the Cube
If I remember correctly, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg is also really awesome. Played that way back when too
Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 are also great games
Other than that, basically what everyone else said though. Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, and Melee are the must plays IMO. Metroid Prime 1 & 2 as well as Pikmin are apparently very good too although I've yet to play them myself

thanks guys. this is exactly why i got a gamecube, i knew that there were a lot of great games that were made for it. i am super pumped to get some of these. i heard that pokemon Colosseum is really good too

I agree that the list of 10 games is too long, and I think that this list of 10 games is a good starting point for anyone who is looking for great GameCube games to play.
