Having installed and played the AoE III game once, I went back to play again a little later. Only the cinematics (dice on the board, ships in the mist) run. I can skip through them with the esc key but when it gets to the final bit (redcoat lines, spinning "coin") the esc key is disabled and the screen eventually shifts to the green "home city" screensaver. And there it ends. I tried re-installing but got no change (not even one more game).
There were no desktop icons or start menu entries installed from either installation. I have contacted Ensemble support but heard nothing back from them. Can anyone shed any light on this problem and maybe suggest a solution?
