Any hopes for The Last of Us TV series?

I liked the games, and I'm curious what the TV series can bring to the table. Yet I can't help but feel some level of cringe watching the trailer. Video game adaptations are usually a very tough exercise so I don't have any hopes really.

Any thoughts?

The trailers for it look great. Unlike the Uncharted movie that always looked clueless and awful.

Yeah they look like they made a lot of effort to be close to the original material, which is nice. But when I hear the line "we keep going for family" I start to worry that Joel watched Fast and Furious a little too much. And when Ellie asks "I'm not family?" in the car, I really wonder what reasons she has to even ask this question, especially at that point in the adventure.
But I mean... Let's see. It's probably best if it's not a 1:1 adaptation anyway.

well one good thing about the civilization ending events of the story is they didn’t make any more of those terrible movies in their world.

I'm hoping that the show will stick to the game's amazing story and characters, but also add some fresh elements to keep it interesting.
