10.000 soldiers

Hello,

I have been playing this game for a while now. It's one of the best games there is.
But in a lot of reviews I hear people talking about 10.000 soldiers on the screen, But it never happens to me .
So how do you get that many soldier on the screen? And don't worry about my pc, it's good.

unit size to largest, max 3000 (ish) soilders per army, 9 possible squares on the map which army's can engage in one battle from, use 4 of them

failing that, custom battle.

But can u control all the units on the battle field?

no, just 1 army, if you use kingdoms you can give the AI armies basic orders (eg attack here, defend here, prioritise skirmish)
