Season three of Spotify‘s The Louis Theroux Podcast will launch this September, The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively reveal.
The British documentarian, author, journalist — and some would say, a national treasure — has topped both the Spotify and Apple charts since the podcast’s inception in 2023 as he connects with high-profile guests in his distinctively Theroux-esque manner.
It comes at a time when Spotify has canceled some of its biggest podcasts, including Heavyweight and Stolen last year, as the platform tempers its investment in the podcast space.

Since The Louis Theroux Podcast began, his guests have ranged from Shania Twain and Jennette McCurdy to Baz Luhrmann and Amelia Dimoldenberg. It has prompted global headlines following revelations from the likes of Sharon Stone, who revealed the name of a producer who suggested she sleep with her co-star, and Paul Mescal, who opened up about the impact that Normal People’s overnight success had on his mental health.
Theroux said of the show’s return: “Here we go again. More chats, more probing, more laughs and maybe even a few tears here and there. There’s something very special about the podcast interview, particularly the warmth and intimacy you get when listening, so I can’t wait to get back to it with some fascinating guests. I’d love it if you joined us.”
The lineup for the upcoming season has yet to be announced. Each conversation on The Louis Theroux Podcast is pegged as “a charming and fearless attempt to get to the essence of his celebrity guests.”
The Louis Theroux Podcast is a Spotify podcast from Mindhouse.
