Duration Entry Modal

Current Modal:  N/A

  • You get a text field input type of situation
  • Not necessarily that helpful
    • Especially when you've got to manually enter the colon yourself using special characters. 😞

Desired Modal: Number fields, side by side, for the hour : min : sec

  • This way we don't have to enter the special characters
  • And we've got a number pad to work with, instead of a text keyboard.

As always, thanks for considering!

Since the introduction of AppSheet, the world has moved faster with better UX, but AppSheet has not kept up with these changes over the years. Simple tasks have become very problematic for any user needing to input duration-type data. Unfortunately, workarounds are always clumsy and unattractive.

People today are accustomed to a polished UX even for simple booking websites. When users encounter AppSheet now, it feels like a throwback to the early 2000s when basic internet UI was all HTML. For features like duration input and long text with rich formatting, AppSheet falls short in many areas.

Also...

Currency format
Another change that would be very welcome, is for pricing column type, that would be nice if it showed the currency format changing in real time whereas we type the numbers. You know what I mean? Adding the commas and points.

Masking characters
I'd love to have the option the text format to add a mask for the text, choose a symbol or character as an asterisks * or a dot • very simple feature to be added

Toggles switch on/off
I know that if we use a yes/no column as quick edit in the detail view it becomes a toggle, but I'd like to see that inside the form. Perhaps have a different option, like a button that is on or off, clickable instead of two buttons like yes/no. We can use an enum with one option to use as one enable or not, but it is a workaround we have to do.

Dashboard view
I wanna see a better dashboard configuration. I dislike to have the views inside those containers, or boxes. It'd be great if we didn't have those separations because the view would be more natural, organic, and the user would feel like they are in one view, not in a mix of views, for example see the image below:
