Since I started watching SNL, I haven’t skipped as many episodes as I have this year. I read the recaps religiously, and even if I skipped the episode, I occasionally watch a few of their more noted sketches on Youtube.

Dud episode from beginning to end, but Dula Peep was giving us something, I guess lol. The high energy was there, but the writing wasn’t. Those two mid songs don’t give me much hope for “Radical Optimism” either. Save us next week, Queen Maya!

Maya was for sure the best episode of the season. So much use of the cast, literal ijbols, amazing premises. I wonder how much was pre-written, but assuming they followed the standard production formula of starting writing on a Monday, it was excellent.

If McKinnon and Rudolph both get in, that is a Maya advantage since she is in multiple portions of the McKinnon episode. She would basically get two episodes while every other nominee gets one.

Maya is the queen. They could have dropped that dumb, overlong British caveman skit, but otherwise strong. Colin’s bit about relying on Marvel movies was priceless.
