I really enjoyed the Y&R special they aired last night on CBS. It was nice to see a behind the scenes look for Fans of the show to watch.

Start engraving Michelle Stafford’s name on that Lead Actress trophy because she blew it out of the park in Thursday’s episode. Phyllis’ showdown with Diane is one for the books, no doubtably some of the very best work of Stafford’s career to date.

ReplyCopy URLNovember 17, 2023 at 11:09 am #1205618654Yes, I saw yesterday that she was going to be coming to Y&R. Very cool! I love Colleen Zenk.

So great to see her back on daytime though!

ReplyCopy URLNovember 27, 2023 at 10:33 am #1205625350I have been watching a bit specifically for Colleen Zenk’s aunt Jordan – I assume it’s a guest stint. I can tell she is having a blast playing such a crafty villainess! She is bringing back some of the worst of Barbara Ryan over the years on ATWT! And I must admit I have been enjoying MTS’s work as a haggard Nikki! They brought up her MS diagnosis, which they swept under the rug for a very long time…. the rest of the show bores me though.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 1, 2023 at 8:08 am #1205630913Glad to know there is still some mosre story for Colleen Zenk’s Aunt Jordan – she’s been a total hoot! IDK how long her guest stint (I am assuming it will be only a guest stint) will last but I am enjoying it! She had a great interview with Alan Locher on The Locher Room (youtube) that was beyond wonderful! They did a great job keeping it a secret that she was coming on to the show!
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 27, 2024 at 8:53 am #1205760440I have watched a bit of Y&R lately – not all that exciting – I don’t know about others but I find the ‘who will run which business’ storylines quite dull… Some terrific actors on the show but hardly any really memorable scenes, at least for me.
it’s been over 2 months since anyone posted on this thread!

ReplyCopy URLMarch 14, 2024 at 10:40 am #1205778323I started re-watching Y&R when I heard Colleen Zenk was on because I enjoyed her on ATWT. It didn’t take too much to get caught up and so for the past three months have gotten pretty immersed.
My word, this show is dull. Other than the whole Jordan story, everything is such a slog. Conversations take days to get through and nothing ever really happens. Everyone seems to be a CEO of some company but there’s no conflict in any of them other than Billy wanting to add his mom’s married name to a company even though she hasn’t been on camera to tell us if she even cares.
The worst is the Cricket/Danny/Phyllis triangle. And watching two women in their fifties act like children fighting over a super boring and (apologies) weak actor is just annoying. I also have been watching for three months and have no clue who Tucker is. I mean I know who he is character wise but is he good, bad, does he care about his family, does he care about Ashley or Audra, there’s just no reasons for his actions other than what the plot needs that day. I also don’t like the Audra performer. She seems saddled with poor writing, but also brings nothing to it. One day she’s in love with Kyle. No, wait, it’s Tucker. Oh, look her and Nate have something. What is her motivation? Makes no sense. And watching her spar with Ashley is just sad.
Speaking of Ashley, I think Eileen Davidson is a great actress but really waiting for this story to make sense. Seems like they’re going down a dissociative identity path but it’s taking forever to get there. Also like how Genoa City seems two hours away from Paris and people can jet back and forth and not have jet lag or be aware of any time difference.
The show looks beautiful, even if everyone seems to live in the same hotel room. I think the way the show incorporates texting is actually interesting since that’s how real people communicate. I haven’t enjoyed the way the show flashes back with the person in color in the foreground and the black and white flashback behind. That just looks cheap.
I don’t know if I can stick with the show after Zenk is gone but we’ll see.
ReplyCopy URLApril 23, 2024 at 7:26 am #1205813023Meg Bennett – who played Julia and wrote for several shows, particularly GH – has died at 75 after a cancer illness. Julia was an important character when I first started to watch Y&R back in the early 1980’s and was married to Victor Newman. Meg was also on Search For Tomorrow as an actress.
