I agree with those questioning whether Sheila has really died. Im wondering if Sheila was meeting an old criminal friend that agreed to have plastic surgery to look like her (maybe because the friend was dying anyhow). The fateful encounter between “Sheila” and Steffy was very strange. It was very quick. There was no major dialogue or exchange of words. Sheila did not put up much of a fight and seemed to want to be killed. If this was truly the death of Sheila, it should have been more dramatic and prolonged and probably would have been done as a murder mystery.

Looks like he gets to stick around for a little while longer (another brilliant move by B&B!) via his mysterious connection to Poppy, which certainly has me intrigued.

Mint/Drug dealer? lol
ReplyCopy URLJune 29, 2024 at 4:03 pm #1205874574^^^ Lol! That was my initial thought too, but when the camera stayed and panned in on Tom’s stunned look during his encounter with Luna at the Spencer Mansion, I had a hunch there might be something more significant at play (a clever twist indeed unveiled at the conclusion of Friday’s episode – I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet!).

ReplyCopy URLJuly 23, 2024 at 1:42 pm #1205893998Yeah, I think the show is cleverly leading viewers astray by casting suspicion on Poppy, Li, and of course Sheila, while the actual killer will likely turn out to be someone more off the radar. Jack and Justin’s sudden appearances at Il Giardino, for example, the night of Tom’s drugging and subsequent death, couldn’t have been a coincidence. The issue of Luna’s paternity also has an interesting setup, meant to keep the audience guessing. They’ve provided us with just enough clues, via the flashbacks of Poppy and Tom together in San Francisco, to cast reasonable doubt on Bill being Luna’s father… which raises the question of the legitimacy of the paternity test conducted at the Spencer Mansion, which demonstrated that Luna is Bill’s daughter. Poppy couldn’t have known that Li would just show up unannounced to oversee the test, so I think that safely rules out Poppy tampered with the results. That Li somehow manipulated the test is an angle which hadn’t occurred to me (props to you, BTN!), but this would imply she had had inside knowledge of Poppy’s past fling with Tom to the extent where Li knew with relative certainty that Tom is Luna’s father, all of which is highly unlikely. And even if Li did know, it would’ve made more sense given Li’s rocky history with Poppy (and to reinforce Li’s accusations against her, that Poppy is just a gold digger out for Bill’s wealth) had Li simply let the test run its course and prove that Bill isn’t Luna’s father. Another possibility to consider, since the test wasn’t conducted in a sterile laboratory setting, perhaps neither Li or Poppy interfered and it simply gave a false positive? Or, in going along with the idea that Tom is Luna’s biological father, the results indeed gave an accurate reading and Bill and Luna are genetically linked because Bill and Tom are related (perhaps long-lost siblings?), in which case…
