Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series

The fallout of Gabi revealing Eric is Jude’s father. EJ tries to explain to Nicole why he lied. Nicole races to stop Eric from leaving town. Stephan demands to know why Gabi went back on her word to not say anything. Bobby teases Jada with the fact he know Li Shin true killing. Connie had Vision of Li Shin as she recalls killing him and vowing others will pay for hurting him.

^^Dan Feuerriegel and Arianne Zucker also do a great job in playing the fallout, especially Dan. The look on his face after EJ pleads case to Nicole and realizes she’s not going to forgive him is perfection. I had a hard time with the Connie/Li scenes, though. The more the show reveals about Li’s murder, the goofier the whole thing seems.

Outstanding Lead Actor Eric Matscolf (Brady Black)

On Theresa wedding day to Alex, Theresa and Brady get emotion talking and thinking about their relationship and ONS. Later Brady breaks into the liquor cabinet at the Penthouse and stars down a bottle of Vodka.

Outstanding Supporting Actor Wally Kurth (Justin Kirikis)

Justin askes Alex if he can Officiate Alex and Theresa wedding. Later After Alex accepts because he feels it wants Victor would wanted an Angry Justin rips into Victor for lying about Alex being his son only to rip it away.

Melissa always knocks it out of the park when having to display Chelsea’s more vulnerable side (like the part where she tells Adam that blaming herself is her superpower – such a tender, heartbreaking moment).

Lead or Supporting actress Emily O’Brian (Theresa Donavon)

Theresa comes back to apology for scheming to Make Alex Victor Heir. Eric and Theresa both admitted they wanted each other but Theresa actions blew it. Theresa also begs forgiveness from Maggie and admits she kidnapped her granddaughter and askes Maggie to drive he to the police station so she can turn herself in.

^^^Eric Martsolf is incredible in these scenes. It’s really time for him to win another Emmy. Emily O’Brien does a great job as well. This storyline really benefitted from having its climax delayed by the WGA strike. I doubt the show would have let it run as long as they did if not for the regular writers not being there for finish out the story, but it really helped with the impact, particularly for the characters who have spent a lot of time talking about Alex/Theresa and/or Victor’s money.
