The 51st annual daytime Emmy award nominations are being announced – 3 categories on Thursday, April 18th (Drama Series, Lead Actor and Lead Actress) and the rest of the categories on Friday, April 19th. Here is a place for our reactions to this year’s nominees.

I really do get the feeling that CBS rigs the lead performance categories.
It’s good to see CBS ruling for the time being. I would’ve loved to see James Reynolds nominated.
It’s good to see Eric Braeden nominated since it’s been 20 years for him. This evening, I better see or hear that Melody Thomas Scott is nominated for Lead Actress.
I resisted the CBS rigging theory for a long time, but after last year’s wins, it started to feel more plausible.
Generally, I find this list rather underwhelming, but that’s based mostly on my feelings on the actors in general, so maybe they have a dynamite reel and totally deserved the nomination. Thanks to NATAS not releasing reels, we’ll never know! It’s nice to see Eric Braeden getting another nomination after all these years.
I’m definitely rooting for Eric Martsolf, a great actor who had some excellent scenes in 2023 and also is a super nice guy.

I edit my post. I think Mark probably submitted in Supporting. I hope and pray tomorrow that Tanner Novlen is nominated.

So happy for Stafford, Hughes & Watros! I think Stafford’s gonna be hard to beat.
Were the other nominees actually leads in 2023? I don’t watch their shows so I can’t say for sure, but I don’t remember reading much about their performances here last year.
This is the 9th time in the last 10 years that GH has more than one nominee in this category. It’s only won once in that timeframe (West won over Wright in 2015).

No JMW this year.
I am also surprised that Ari Zucker isn’t there but perhaps she didn’t submit? I don’t think Maura submits any longer.
Hmmmmm. I’m so upset Melody Thomas Scott didn’t get nominated 😭😭😭😭😭😭 but I am happy for Michelle Stafford, Annika Noelle, Tamara Braun and Katherine Kelley Lang. It’s feeling like a B&B year. Not sure if Katherine, Annika & Tamara were Lead…………
