You’ll be tasked with preparing GOG in-house builds for the upcoming GOG releases, work closely with Publishing team members to ensure high quality of the technical side of releases, as well as develop tools needed for improving GOG versions of the games (e.g. adding controller support, removing online components etc.).

We invite gaming and modding enthusiasts with a proven track record of reverse engineering and/or modding. Join our Team and help us make games live forever!

Responsibilities:

  • Own projects related to preparing and fixing, existing or future, games' builds on the GOG Platform,
  • Estimate time and effort required to prepare the in-house builds for the signed releases and suggest the release timeline based on their complexity / deadline / attractiveness (aka ‘technical evaluation’),
  • Report potential issues or threats regarding the release timeline,
  • Work closely with Build Production team members to ensure high quality of the technical side of the release,
  • Cooperate closely with other Technical Producers in order to deliver the planned work on time,
  • Work closely with Business Development team to understand the business side of a given release and assist in evaluating work needed for fixing games,
  • Be the point of contact for external contractors and publishers,
  • Support Game Releases team with tools/automations that help with the catalog maintenance and the release process of games,
  • Develop tools needed for improving the quality of GOG's versions of the games (e.g. controller support).

Job Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of C++/C# or other programming experience,
  • Prior experience with various assemblers,
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Powershell, Python, AppsScript, JS),
  • Basic knowledge of current and legacy DRM technologies (SecuROM, SafeDisc, Starforce, Denuvo, etc),
  • A track record of reverse engineering game engines and/or game modding,
  • Great written and verbal English skills,
  • Passion for brainstorming unconventional ideas and thinking outside of the box,
  • Great communication skills and experience in cross-team collaborations,
  • Positive attitude with the focus on finding solutions,
  • An inherent love for video games and PC gaming culture.

Pluses:

  • Knowledge of various console emulators and ScummVM
  • Experience in managing communication with business partners,
  • Experience in using various task trackers (i.e. JIRA).
