Pros:
- Fantastic storytelling
- Branching storylines
- Choices matter
- Lots of builds/playstyles
- Well written characters
- Exceptional pace
- 112 hours in my playthrough and I was gripped from start to finish
- Cool weapons and armor
- Cool magic and effects
- Tons of quality voice acting and character animations
Cons:
- A few inconsistencies and contradictions
- Most will probably be patched, so not a huge concern moving forward
- Would have been nice to choose a sexuality in the character creator, or something. Got tired of all my bros in camp coming on to me.
- This could also be patched so that it’s easier to avoid
- Camera can’t pan up and can be generally awkward
- Found it to be particularly bad in the late game battles
- A standard 3rd person cam toggle would have taken immersion and atmosphere up a notch
- Some mechanics drawbacks playing with a controller
- Radial action menu was hard to keep organized
- Every time a new spell was learned or scroll/potion/item was picked up it would change up the radial menu
- Radial action menu was hard to keep organized
Nitpickey:
- Graphics are good, but they feel a couple years behind
- You have to jump a lot, and it’s kind of clunky
- Took me a while to learn there’s a dedicated jump button
- Some characters can’t jump worth a damn, becomes a nuisance to use spells or potions all the time
