Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 Revealed, Features Two Campaigns

Will you be evil or… a different kind of evil?

Comments

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus is one of the best video-game adaptations in the series to date, and if you're itching for more turn-based combat in the grimdark universe, you're in luck. Announced at Warhammer Skulls 2024, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 is coming to consoles and PC with two full campaigns.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 will let you play as either the "acolytes of the Omnissiah"--the Machine God--or as the "ancient and deathless Necron legions," according to the official announcement. The two factions will come into direct conflict as Vargard Nefersha wakes from "millenia of slumber" to launch an all-out attack on the Adeptus Mechanicus. It's up to you, of course, to choose which side you'll join, at least until you play through the other campaign.

Now Playing: Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus 2 - Official Announcement Trailer | Skulls 2024

As with the first game in the series, Mechanicus 2 is a turn-based tactical game. Prior to each mission, you'll be able to manage a garrison and choose from your selection of forces--the first game is often compared to XCOM, if that sounds familiar--and there will be environmental mechanics that will benefit or harm a particular side, adding another strategic layer to combat.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 does not yet have a release date, but the game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. As with the original, it's developed by Bulwark Studios and published by Kasedo Games. For more from Warhammer Skulls 2024, check out the multiplayer options in Space Marine 2.
