The Rock And Captain America Team Up To Save Santa With Talking Polar Bear

The hierarchy of Christmas is about to change.

Comments

There is a war on Christmas and Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans have to come together to save the holiday season as well as the Big Man himself, Santa (Oscar winner J. K. Simmons). With a story by Johnson's former brother-in-law and business partner Hiriam Garcia, Red One is helmed by Jumanji director Jake Kasdan, who had previously worked with Johnson on the board game movie franchise.

The Amazon MGM Studios film is set to hit theatres November 15, centers on North Pole head of security Callum Drift (Johnson) and Level 4 naughty boy Jack O’Malley (Evans) trying to find Santa and find themselves fending off holiday monsters like Krampus and formidable snowmen.

After Black Adam failed at the box office and to disrupt DC's film slate, Johnson dove right into production of Red One, touting it as a "big, fun, action-packed and fresh new take on Christmas Lore." The movie isn't without the usual shadow of controversy that Johnson seems to bring with him with a ballooned budget and improper behavior on set--something that has been talked about before.

Footage of Red One was first shown at CinemaCon to journalists selected by Johnson's publicist, but they were not allowed to write about what they saw during the presentation.

Along with Johnson, Evans, and Simmons, Red One stars Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Nick Kroll, and Kristofer Hivju.
