Sonic X Shadow Generations Is Coming October 25, New Trailer Revealed At Summer Game Fest

Sega revealed a new trailer for Sonic X Shadow Generations during the main showcase for Summer Game Fest. The trailer announced that the game will launch on October 25.

As seen in the trailer, Sonic X Shadow Generations includes both a remaster of Sonic Generations and a brand-new story-driven campaign in which you play as Shadow the Hedgehog. This new adventure will see Shadow go up against an old nemesis, Black Doom, as well as familiar foes from previous games.

In the Sonic Generations half of the game, you play as two different versions of the titular hedgehog: the old-school Sonic who runs through 2D levels and the more modern Sonic who sprints through 3D environments. This remastered version of the game features upgraded visuals to both the 2D and 3D levels, as well as bonus content.

Sonic X Shadow Generations is scheduled to release for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC. Preordering the Digital Deluxe Edition lets you start playing the game three days early on October 22. The physical edition comes bundled with an exclusive journal written by Doctor Robotnik.
