Earlier this year, reports emerged that the MCU's former Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson, was in talks to join the next Jurassic World movie. Now, Johansson has not only confirmed that she's starring in the film, she's also revealed that she's been trying to get into the franchise for a long time.

"I'm such an enormous fan of the franchise and huge nerd for it," Johansson told ComicBook.com. "I'm just like, I can't even, I'm pinching myself. I've been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over ten years. I'm like, 'I'll die in the first five minutes! I can get eaten by whatever! I'll do the craft service!' I'll do anything for it. The fact that it's happened in this way at this time just is actually unbelievable."

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards is helming the currently untitled film, which features a story by David Koepp, one of the screenwriters of the original Jurassic Park. Johansson was particularly enthusiastic about the script and Koepp's contributions to the new sequel.

"The script is so incredible," related Johansson. "David Koepp wrote it. He returned after like 30 years to write the script. He's so passionate about it, which is so awesome."

Johansson's Jurassic World film is currently in production, and she will co-star with Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, and possibly Mahershala Ali, who entered talks to join the sequel last month. The film will be released on July 2, 2025.
