The Power Rangers are getting the retro-brawler treatment with Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind. The new game from Digital Eclipse was announced at Summer Game Fest, with a very 1990s-fabulous trailer showing off tons of gameplay.

Rita's Rewind is very specifically set in the original era of Rangers, with their classic costumes, weapons, vehicles, and villains. That means we saw recognizable faces like Goldar and of course, Rita Repulsa in the trailer. The official announcement teases that this "Robo-Rita" is a reincarnation of the original, and she'll summon enemies from across Ranger history. The lengthy trailer showed side-scroller beat-'em-up action, vehicle segments, and first-person Zord battling.

"As we celebrate over 30 years of Power Rangers, we are excited to collaborate with Digital Eclipse to introduce Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind to our passionate fanbase," said Hasbro digital strategy SVP Eugene Evans, in the announcement. "We created Hasbro Retro Arcade to deliver a modern take on old-school arcade action based on our world-class brands and characters. This further illustrates our strategy to grow our digital games portfolio through licensing and internal development and we can't wait for fans' reactions when revisiting iconic moments through this new, yet retro, gameplay."

You can wishlist the game now on Steam, and the official announcement also mentions that it will come to unspecified consoles.
