Oh Captain, my Captain.

After a few days of being teased, the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World has arrived. This is Sam Wilson's (Anthony Mackie) first solo movie in the role he took over in Disney+'s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

The trailer shows off Sam's new flight suit, as well as a mustache-less Ross and the tension the two of them have on whether or not Captain American is an official military unit. There are some really cool fight scenes, a brief glimpse of Giancarlo Esposito in his yet confirmed character, and even the White House becoming collateral damage. Oh, and a certain red behemoth at the end. Check it out below, and then have a look at our Captain America: Brave New World trailer breakdown for all the Easter eggs and other details.

"It made more sense for it to be more of a grounded espionage action movie as opposed to aliens and airplanes coming through portals and sh-t," Mackie told EW back in April. "Even though I've been in so many of them and have seen it all now, the opportunity for Sam to really establish himself as a true action star and Avenger comes with this movie."

The only footage that has been seen until this was at CinemaCon with President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (Harrison Ford) welcoming Wilson to the White House and commending him on his past heroism, but soon find themselves fighting off some sleeper agent assassins, including Carl Lumbly's Isaiah Bradley, attempt to take out the President. We see a lot of that footage here.

Alongside the trailer premiere, Marvel released a teaser poster for the film that might one of the best in a long while. The mighty red hand of Red Hulk clutching the circumference of Cap's shield.

"This movie is a clear reset," he adds. "It really re-establishes the idea of what this universe is and what this universe is going to be. I think with these movies, you're getting a clear, new branding of what Marvel is headed towards the same way they did with Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Joining Mackie and Ford will be Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon, Shira Haas as Israeli superheroine Sabra, Liv Tyler reprising her role as Betty Ross for the first time since 2008, and Tim Blake Nelson as superbrainiac, The Leader. While plot details are still not completely known, we've gotten some pretty big hints due to early toy releases.

Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled to fly into theaters February 14, 2025.
