Discover a recent solved story from the Mustang Police Department, situated just outside Oklahoma City.

On a very busy July 4th, 2024, a solo patrol officer of the Mustang Police Department was dispatched to a local business after the employees reported that just after 6:30 am, two suspects made entry into their maintenance equipment room stealing valuable tools. The business notified the officer at around 8:30 am and allowed the responding officer to review security cameras which provided images of the suspects and their vehicle. The officer was not able to identify the vehicle’s license plate but was able to search Mustang Police Department Flock Safety cameras and turn the vague vehicle identifiers into a match based on suspected travel to/from the crime scene.

When the officer believed he had learned the license plate number, he immediately drove to the registered owner’s address in a nearby city. Upon arriving at the residence, just before 10:00 am, the officer successfully located both suspects and recovered the stolen property that was still inside the vehicle and observable through the windows. The suspects were caught off-guard by the officer's investigation speed and did not have enough time to relocate the tools. With the help of Flock Safety tools, coupled with the officer's extreme dedication, he was able to recover all the business’ stolen property, detain both suspects and complete the crime report within a short time of the initial call.
