Usually wearing light blue armor, Shovel Knight is the main character in the game. His main focus is to find his beloved Shield Knight who is lost to the Tower of Fate and to stop the Enchantress from taking over the Valley.
As a practitioner of the ancient Code of Shovelry, Shovel Knight lives by the creed of: Slash Mercilessly and Dig Tirelessly! Even with his small stature, he has won many battles by using his quick thinking and ingenuity. With his trusty weapon, the Shovel Blade, Shovel Knight can do almost anything.
During his journey, Shovel Knight aids the many people he meets such as the Bard and the King of Pridemoor Keep. Along the way, Shovel Knight constantly dreams of Shield Knight where he fights imaginary enemies while attempting to catch her.

At an 8000 gold prize, the Ornate Plate Armor is the most expensive armor the Armorer can sell. True to the description, the Ornate Plate Armor offers no special combat or movement benefits. It only has a few small effects on the game: a sparkling trail is left behind Shovel Knight as he moves, when jumping he performs flips and acrobatics, after being launched from the Catapult he lands on his feet instead of hitting the ground with his face (a victory jingle is played in the background), and after the Battle Royale King Knight acknowledges the armor and compliments Shovel Knight.
The Shovel Knight - Shovel Knight COMBO edition includes the Shovel Knight - Ornate Plate Armor edition as well as the Shovel Knight - EXCLUSIVE edition for the Ultimate Shovel Knight fan.
