Home safety is one of the best applications for smart home technology and the Ring Video Doorbell is an easy way to smarten up your security. After a simple and straightforward installation process, you can use the Ring Doorbell's 1080p camera and mobile app to get a clear feed of what's happening at your front door, while the built-in mic and speaker provides two-way communication. You'll also get notifications when you have visitors, and the Ring Video Doorbell can pair with select Alexa devices, such as smart displays, for further integration with your smart home ecosystem.

HP Laptop 14 — $280, was $400
HP 14 laptop with intel Celeron on desk.

Need a solid workhorse PC? HP has one of the best laptop deals on tap right now in this 14-inch number, which sports an Intel Celeron CPU paired with 8GB of RAM. That's twice the memory you typically see at this price point, meaning this laptop won't slow you down. The icing on the cake is the 128GB SSD, which again, is much more than what you normally find in this bracket (where you're often stuck with 64GB of eMMC storage). That's a very good set of specs for less than $300.

Apple 10.2-Inch iPad (2021) — $309, was $329
The iPad 10.2 on a table.

Many tablets have come and gone, but the iPad still reigns supreme -- and even with higher-end offerings like the iPad Air and iPad Pro, the standard 10.2-inch iPad is still the Apple tablet we recommend for most people. Apple has kept it nicely updated over the years, and the iPad looks fantastic, runs smoothly, and offers a great user experience thanks to its slick iPadOS software. It's a great value at its regular price, but Amazon's early Prime Day iPad deals let you score one for even less.

Apple iPad Air (64GB, Wi-Fi) — $559, was $599
Apple iPad Air 4 held in hand over a desktop.

A step up from the standard Apple iPad 10.2, the latest iPad Air features a larger, higher-resolution screen and better performance. It’s compatible with Apple’s Smart Keyboard Folio Case which debuted alongside the iPad Pro and can be used with the Apple Pencil too. It’s a must-have for anyone looking for one of the best tablets on the shelves for both work and play, who don’t need the increased processing power that comes with the iPad Pro. For most, the iPad Air is the perfect fit.

Apple AirPods Pro — $200, was $249

The AirPods Pro are sweat-resistant, offer active noise-canceling to block out background sound, and have interchangeable silicone ear tips to help you get the perfect fit for a more comfortable extended-listening experience, and can last up to 4.5 hours on a single charge with noise-canceling enabled. They’re on sale at Amazon today for $200, which isn't quite the $159 we saw them for on Black Friday, but it's a nice discount if you can't wait until Prime Day next week.

Best back to school Apple deals in 2024: MacBook, AirPods, and more
MacBook Air sitting on a table in an airport.

If you're an Apple fan, it probably doesn't need to be said, but good Apple deals are hard to come by. People are simply willing to pay regular price for the quality products. There's no reason to dole out deals again and again throughout the year, and when we do find deals it is common for many of them to be refurbished Apple deals, not new products. Nonetheless, Apple deals do exist. And, right now, for the back to school season, we're finding generous offers on trendy items you and your kids will both enjoy. Here are the best back to school Apple deals across a variety of their offerings.
Apple AirPods 2 — $89, was $129

Here are the AirPods Gen 2 with the traditional lighting case. By now, if you're in the Apple ecosystem, you probably don't need to check our Apple AirPods 2 review to know of their capabilities, excellence with iPhones, and overall notoriety. Just remember that now we're in the era of USB-C and a wireless charging case, so getting this version is (as hard as it is to admit) going to give someone some old school cool cred around the schoolyard, campus, or office. This is a great price for what has historically been considered the best wireless earbuds.

Best Back to School TV Deals: Get dorm ready for Fall 2024
Back to school deals

It's that time again, the end of summer is coming and the beginning of the (school) year is here. Whether you're preparing to head off to the dorms or haven't been to a schoolyard in years, you should know that it is a great time to get a budget TV at a discount rate. Here, we've collected a whole host of TV deals for you to consider, with most of them reflecting the needs of students — smaller, dorm-friendly TVs on a budget — but also a few bigger, fancier TVs if you dare to reach that high.
Onn. 24-inch Class HD Roku Smart TV — $74, was $88

This is the absolute cheapest TV deal you're probably going to find at the moment, at least from the most popular, most trusted sites. As a Roku TV, you know it has access to everything you're going to need to find entertainment quickly (and even free), and at only 24 inches from corner to corner, the TV will fit easily in your cramped dorm. Plus, at this price, it'll probably be cheaper than your Chemistry textbook. The only downside is that it is just 720p. So, if you want to have a group of friends over to crowd around the TV together, and want to focus more on the memories than the finer details of picture quality, this is the pickup for you.
