MaXXXine lands in cinemas this Friday, but it might not be the end of the X trilogy as we thought it was.

Earlier this year, Ti West told What's Under the Bed? that he has "one weird idea" for a potential fourth movie. He followed that up this week by telling Collider he doesn't "make the trailers" which have pushed the climactic aspect of MaXXXine.

So when Digital Spy sat down with Mia Goth ahead of the release of MaXXXine, we asked whether she could see a potential return as the iconic Maxine Minx for a fourth movie.

"I'm not sure where else it could go today, but it would be hard to say no to Ti," she explained. "I've been working with Ti for the past five years and yes he's my collaborator, but he's also my friend. Never say never."

Across the trilogy, Goth has played two different characters, Maxine Minx and Pearl, as well as co-writing prequel movie Pearl. She has also served as an executive producer on Pearl and as a producer on MaXXXine.

If this is to be the end of the acclaimed series, it has still taught her a lot about where she wants to go in her career and a lesson to take forward.

"Just reminding myself to listen to my voice and to know that I have a voice, and it's effective and it means something and to not be afraid to speak up. It really can pay off," she reflected.

"I'd love to write more. Now that Ti and I have done that [on Pearl], it's really opened up something within me and I'd just love to continue being involved in the creative process all around."

Perhaps we could see another collaboration between Ti and Mia for the fourth movie, if it happens.

MaXXXine is released in cinemas on July 5.
