Our white-label journey planner solution:

• Plans journeys from A-B with a choice of routes: quietest, fastest, and a balanced route (offering the best of both)
• Is created by cyclists, for cyclists: we really understand how cyclists do route-finding
• Gives full route details: stage-by-stage instructions, calorie saving, CO2 saving, time and distance, and GPX output
• Takes account of: street/road/path types, cycle infrastructure, signed routes (including Sustrans NCN), apparent legal status, surface types, cycle lane widths, obstructions, and much more, where these exist in the surveyed data
• Avoids hills where suitable alternative routes exist
• Has a customisable 'Quick zoom' link panel, to enable people to zoom straight into particular cities/towns/areas.
• Shows cycle parking, signed cycle routes, hills, bike shops, etc.
• Offers a simple interface: select points by clicking on the map or type for a name, then click 'plan route'
• Routes have a permalink that can be e-mailed to friends and colleagues easily
• Works with our free mobile phone apps (for iPhone, Android and HTML5), so you don't need to spend money on mobile development
• Includes access to a statistics screen giving the daily numbers of routes planned, average distance, and overall totals.
• Is under continual development - adding improvements all the time
• Uses OpenStreetMap, with many areas having detailed cycling data

'Cycle to us' links

We can include a widget so that businesses, organisations, and destinations can create a 'cycle to us' box.

This pre-fills the organisation's location as the destination, so users only need to add their starting point:

There are also lots of link formats that can be used to auto-generate links to places.

Extra option: Points of Interest

We can add clickable, highlighted points of interest, for instance these clickable bike shop locations and cafés.

Another option is showing points that you supply to us as a dataset. Perhaps you have company locations, Council buildings, or other locations to show?

 

Adding preset POIs, or adding your POI dataset, attracts an extra charge, determined according to your requirements.

Extra option: Circular, leisure routing (A-A routing)

Our unique leisure routing mode enables site visitors to plan a circular route, lasting a specified time or distance.

The leisure route will favour points of interest (POIs) where they exist in the area. Site administrators can set what types of POIs are favoured (for example café, parks, etc.) at any time.

Leisure routing attracts an extra charge, determined according to your requirements.

• Specific types of routing modes (for example electric bike routing which would not avoid hills so much).
• Detailed route location reporting, so you can see the most popular areas.

A few other details:

• We refresh the data by doing an update several times a week.
• Our data comes from OpenStreetMap, a fantastic data source with much more detail than many web maps.
• We can include a standard widget for creating a mini-planner (going-to / going-from) box on other pages of your site.
• Routes can be followed on a mobile phone by entering the route number in our free iPhone app or Android app.
• The site is hosted by us, but runs under your URL in your website's design. For full details, see the technical information below.

Technical information

We provide full technical documentation on embedding sites and can provide advice to your IT team if necessary.

Sites can be embedded using one of the standard methods: via a proxy, using a subdomain, or (if necessary) an iframe.

The site is hosted by us, but runs under your URL. Once your IT team have set up a few things, we take care of all the setup.

As part of the setup, we make any adjustments to the layout to ensure that everything looks correct within your house style.

NB: We also have a full data interface (API) which is an option if you wish to have a heavily-customised site and have programming capability.
