Contributing to the map

Here you can edit the map data, OpenStreetMap (OSM), which powers the data behind CycleStreets.

There are two golden rules to obey:

  1. You must not copy any information from other maps that are copyrighted - that includes Google Maps and Ordnance Survey maps for example.
  2. Only enter things that are verifiable, i.e. that other people could confirm exists.

Understand the basics of OpenStreetMap

Read this short introduction to OpenStreetMap, which explains the structure of the map and some key terminology.

When will changes be reflected in CycleStreets?

Changes made in OSM will be reflected the following afternoon in CycleStreets, for the UK and Ireland.

Beyond that area, updates are made every 2-3 weeks.
