Couchbase Professional Administrator

This program consists of two parts, a 4-day instructor-led Couchbase administrator course (CS300)*, and a certification exam that tests several concepts related to the everyday activities of a Couchbase administrator. The concepts covered include Couchbase installation and essentials of storage, and managing Couchbase buckets as well as servers. Also covered is Couchbase’s cross datacenter replication (XDCR) functionality, backup restoration processes, security protocols, database monitoring, and system logging standards.

This exam tests an architect’s professional knowledge of using and modifying a Couchbase database within Couchbase Server, SQL++/N1QL and indexing, full-text search, and analytics.

Couchbase Professional Architect

This program consists of two parts, a 4-day instructor-led SQL++, Indexing, Full-Text Search, and Analytics course (CD212)* and a certification exam that tests several concepts related to the everyday activities of a Couchbase architect. The concepts covered include the basics of Couchbase as a data platform, writing SQL++ queries, defining indexes, data modeling, and query tuning. Also covered within this course are Couchbase Analytics, Full-Text Search, and Eventing services.

How do you get certified?

• Exams are set for 60 minutes for Associate level and 90 minutes for Professional level. If you need more time, please reach out to training@couchbase.com

Exams must be taken within 90 calendar days of voucher purchase or the voucher will expire.

Take your exam on the Couchbase Academy Learning Management System.

Certification FAQ

Who is eligible to take a certification exam?

Our certification exams are available to anyone who feels prepared to attain the related certifications. For each certification, we offer corresponding courses and training materials to help you prepare for the certification exam, but you can purchase and sit for any certification exam any time you like.

Can I get certified without taking the training courses?

Our training course is the best way to gain the knowledge tested in our certification exam, but course attendance is not a required step in the certification process.

How do I purchase a certification exam?

Exams are available for purchase in our Couchbase Academy store. Locate the exam and add it to your cart. You’ll be directed to log in if you haven’t already done so. Once logged in, you can complete the checkout process. Once your purchase has been completed, you can log into the Couchbase Academy and complete the exam at any time.

How long do I have before I have to take my exam?

Once you’ve purchased your exam from the Couchbase Academy store, you must complete the exam in the Couchbase Academy within 90 calendar days or the exam will expire. Once an exam has expired, you must purchase another if you wish to continue. Therefore, we encourage you to take your exams soon as you are prepared after purchase.

What happens if I pass the exam?

Within 72 hours of passing the exam, you’ll receive a notice to claim your digital badge through Credly. Once you accept your badge, you’ll be provided with links for sharing the badge via LinkedIn, Twitter/X, etc. You can also download the badge and place it in your email signature.

Do I have to create an account to take the exam or get the badge?

Yes. In order to purchase an exam, you must create an account with the Couchbase Academy. Once you pass the exam and receive your “Accept badge” notification from Credly, you will need to create an account for Credly to accept your badge.

What happens if I do not pass the exam?

If you need another opportunity to take the exam, you may purchase another exam from our Couchbase Academy store. We encourage you to refresh your knowledge with the material in the associated course before re-attempting the exam.
