Anyone, including kids, can achieve great oral hygiene with either a manual or an electric toothbrush. According to the American Dental Association, kids are generally able to begin brushing their own teeth (with adult supervision) between the ages of 3 and 6, and either a manual or an electric toothbrush is appropriate.
But you may want to opt for electric if your child has a hard time holding or moving a manual toothbrush—or if your child simply enjoys an electric toothbrush more.
