With a little help from General Motors, Honda has an EV offering named Prologue which is based on the Chevrolet Blazer EV. This roomy SUV has an EPA driving range of 296 miles in front-drive guise.
The more powerful all-wheel drive has a range of 273 to 281 miles, depending on how it is equipped. The Prologue is quick and quiet and has an 11.5 kW on-board charger that facilitates relatively quick home charging. Its 150 kW maximum acceptance rate in DC-fast public places is not a standout. Handling is not very Honda-like with slow and vague steering. The ride is rather stiff-legged. Controls are manageable but drivers will have to get used to the wiper stalk on the left. The infotainment system is easy enough to use and fortunately, unlike the Blazer EV, it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The Acura ZDX is similarly based on a GM design.
